About HW Club | Volunteer for HW Club

Run by parent volunteers, our Homework Club offers a safe, quiet place for students to work on homework for an hour after school, Monday through Thursday.

The program is free and open to all students.

This one-hour study hall is available immediately after regular school dismissal, from 2:29-3:30pm in the library. Once early-dismissal Tuesdays begin, on Tuesdays the Homework Club meets from 1:29-2:30pm in a classroom adjoining the library while the staff has a weekly meeting in the library.

The students are supervised by parent volunteers. While the parents are available to help when students have questions, the program is not individual tutoring.

The Homework Club is a permissive program where participants arrive and leave at their own discretion and of their own volition. It is not a formal sign-in, sign-out program.

The students need to bring their own supplies; make sure they have pencils, pens, and paper in their backpacks.

The study hall is a very positive environment. To maintain this, it is important that each child behaves quietly and respectfully during homework club, allowing the other students to concentrate on their own work. Though all are welcome to attend, it is a privilege, and anyone being disruptive will be asked to leave.

Help with HW Club
The Homework Club furthers the family atmosphere throughout campus. Parent volunteers who have 1st graders get to know 5th graders and have been seen high-fiving 3rd graders at other school events.

You do not need to be a professional teacher to volunteer; just having a helping heart and an hour after school once a week will allow both you and the kids to reap the rewards. Come help our kids understand their material even better!

Contact Jody Bradley at jody@shermanoaksparents.com to volunteer or for more information.
