Through the many opportunities to put their learning into practice, our children gain confidence and pride in their artistic endeavors at Sherman Oaks.

Here are some of the occasions that families and the greater community can view our children reveling in the arts.

Classroom performances
Children often put on performances with their classmates during holiday parties or special occasions. Typical events are Thanksgiving skits, various songs, mini-theatrical plays, short films and commercials, and class talent shows.

Winter Sing
In December, all the children entertain the full audience of families in a school-wide performance on campus. Each grade level performs several songs learned in Music class, highlighting some of the techniques, rhythms, and skills they have acquired in the first three months of school.

Spring Sing
In June, we reconvene to enjoy the kids dazzle us with a final choral performance. Every child sings several songs with his/her entire grade level, and our fabulous chorus belts out a few crowd-pleasing harmonies to send us into the final days of school. How cute (and amazing) are those Kindergarteners?!

Street Fair
Our children love to perform at the Sherman Oaks Street Fairs in the Fall and Spring. Look for them on stage, bringing the crowd to its feet.

Chorus
Our renowned chorus performs on campus and throughout town. They have performed at local malls, the street fairs, and cap the year off with a school performance in the auditorium.

Square Dancing
During Open House night, look to the northern play yard to find the large gathering of families and friends smiling and clapping. There you will find our 3rd Grade students performing promenades, arm turns, star turns, dosados, and allemandes through their cultural dance enrichment. Thank you, Mr. Parth, for this fun experience and learning!

Talent Show
In addition to class talent shows, we hold a large talent show in the Spring that showcases the awe-inspiring talents of the children at Sherman Oaks. Because the show is already 3+ hours long, the performers must try out to make the show. Some kids sing, some play instruments, dance, do martial arts or gymnastics routines, and even comedy routines. Amazing talent!

Campus Galleries
Walk our halls, gaze around our library, visit our Administration's offices, observe our auditorium, and peruse our classrooms to view the wonderful displays of our children's artwork. Saunter from the office to the library to enjoy an exhibit of visual arts created by all grade levels in our Art Explorers studios.
