Overview | Flag Football | Basketball | Softball | Soccer | Track & Field After school sports teams are organized throughout the year by the school district's Beyond The Bell / Youth Services (YS) program. Students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades can try out for the teams. Participation is free of charge for participants. Sports: Competitions and tournaments against other local elementary schools are organized, with successful teams moving on to further tournaments involving schools from all of Los Angeles. Sherman Oaks Elementary is proud of their young student-athletes. Over the past several years, SOES has applauded while our teams have enjoyed tremendous success on the flag football field and basketball courts. The 2008-09 flag football team made it to the local championship game. The 2007-08 boys basketball team was San Fernando Valley Champions, and finished 3rd place out of all L.A. elementary schools. The 2006-07 co-ed flag football team was undefeated in game play. The 2006-07 boys basketball team was San Fernando Valley Champions, and finished 4th place in all of L.A.
