How do you get over 800 students from their cars to their classrooms in a safe and timely manner in 30 minutes or less… Stop Drop and Roll !!

Every day, from 7:45 to 8:15am, rain or shine, parent volunteers are standing by at all four entrances to the school to assist kids in safely exiting their cars and entering the school grounds.

To use Stop Drop & Roll, parents driving to school should go west on Greenleaf or east on Dickens until you reach the appropriate entrance.  Pull to the right between the cones and the curb to allow safe exiting for your children.  To keep traffic flowing, we ask that parents drive away as soon as the car door has been closed. 

Kindergarteners enter school through their respective gates.  All 1st through 5th graders can enter through the main gates on either street.

Main Gates - Grades 1 -5
In order to provide this service for all the school's families, each 1st-5th grade classroom is assigned a week in which its parents staff the two main gates. Each week, a different class is responsible for having 2 parents at each of the 2 main gates each day.

Kindergarten Gates
The 2 Kinder gates are staffed by parents from the Kindergarten classes that use those particular gates.  Each set of Kinder classes has a schedule of parents to staff their particular gate on a weekly or monthly basis.
